Fortunately, our dogs do not have that same reservation. In his defense, Stanley, our dog that can actually catch them, does not seem to intend to kill them. In fact, he seems genuinely upset and disappointed when they stop squeaking like his toys. Stella will never catch one of those critters. However, given the one time she did corner a mouse in the house when she was younger, she would certainly mean to kill whatever she caught. But whatever their intentions, it seems the squirrels have learned to avoid our yard or to at least tread very carefeully.
