Hitting the dog may have been unintentional. There’s no question that shooting the arrow anywhere but at a range or in a designated hunting area was criminally irresponsible. If they were aiming at the dog, then it was sick, to boot. If the miscreant can be identified and caught, then he or she should be put, as my mother would say, UNDER THE JAIL.
I hear turkeys all the time in Oakhurst (have seen them only once), no idea if the Druid Hills flock migrated or if these are different ones.

About seven years ago we had a person drive down our street, park, take out a bow and arrows, and shoot a wild tom turkey that had been roosting around our Druid Hills neighborhood. Then the person drove off. Amazingly, the arrow missed all vital organs. A wildlife specialist picked up the bird and nursed him back to health. We had a small street party when he was brought back and introduced back to his family. What is wrong with some people? By the way, has anyone seen these turkeys? It’s been a few years since I have, and I saw them pretty regularly.

If real life were like CSI:NY they would have them identified and caught within an hour. I can’t even imagine what goes through someone’s head that makes them want to shoot a dog (or any animal for that matter) with an arrow.

Wonder if they can get prints off the shaft of the arrow..
Sometimes I have no probs w/ eye for an eye….find the person who did it, and let them walk around with an arrow in their abdomen.
