DM,
Good job beating Gawker to the Portlandia sketch. I don't think the 1890's is going far enough back though. Someone from Portland will eventually go on a Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown sightseeing trip, and then welcome to the 1690's. Harpsichords and typhoid will be all the rage.

Personal attacks have been running off some of my favorite folks; how we miss DTR and others.

Junky? Nah. I like our collection of neighborhood stores and believe that Walmart will invigorate Suburban Plaza with more shoppers and increased opportunities for smaller tenants to thrive.

Some of my favorite, most character-filled serving platters are from Decatur Estates, a quaint place for browsing and reminiscing. And I’m in love with the exotically patterned $6 Pashmina scarves at Mirage. What great gifts!

Big Lots never fails me when I underestimate my visiting mother’s sinusitis and need an extra pillow, pronto. (And the food aisles turn up unexpected delights, like sparkling Irish spring water.) I doubt that they’ll stay, however, because of the similarity in merchandise.

And, at Last Chance (which, sadly, will go), I made a world-class thrift triumph last year, snagging a barely used $200 silk dress for a mere $18. (I’ll continue to ignore the fact that my husband said, “It kinda looks like a clown outfit.”)

DM! Where are you? I have been crying all morning over this vicious personal attack.

Turned Off, are you kidding? I (and apparently many others) found it funny and I pointed out the humor. How in the hell am I being mean? What is the point of your post other than to insult me?
