I don't know about the code and have no inside knowledge so take this with a grain of salt, but I think the subsequent increase in the appraisal was probably due to discovery of an error in the system the assessor's office was using in doing the recent appraisals. I know in Avondale Estates there was widespread panic when values on a big chunk of the old historic district dropped significantly (mine dropped more than 50%). There was much hew and cry, but before millage rates skyrocketed, they discovered that the glitch was to blame and new assessments were done, returning many values to the prior level or giving more modest changes. I did not attend the meetings and am foggy on the true nature of the glitch, but my recollection is that too much emphasis was placed on the age of the house rather than condition and other indications of value. I would like to tell you whether the notice of the revised appraisal on my home had the same code, but I never actually received the notice that my assessment was returning to the prior value - when I checked on-line it said the notice had been returned undeliverable despite no change in my address and they appear to have ignored my request that it be sent again when I submitted the requested update to my address.

Have to give it to OU...they really are an outstanding team. Hoping they can break the SEC lock on national championships.
