Hate to see a $25/ plate fried chicken restaurant fold. Maybe a $10 gourmet hamburger restaurant will move in…oh, wait there’s already one next door

Oh hell yeah! I’m pretty sure it was on DM that I brought up the idea of The Grit or a similar concept in Decatur and I’ve been dreaming of that (and a Morelli’s franchise) ever since. I’m not vegetarian but often prefer meatless meals. It’s surprisingly hard to do that around here without eating the same pizza and throwaway veggie burgers over and over. Thank god (or Krishna?) for the great South Indian options nearby but it’s really hard for me to convince many folks to eat at them with me. A place like The Grit would be beyond awesome. Can we get someone to forward this thread to them? If they’ve ever thought of expanding, I can’t imagine a better place than Decatur!

I REALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! want The Grit to bring back their old standard, Yellow Indian Curry, my favorite meal of all-time anywhere. It’s been gone 6 months, and while their Sides of the Day sometimes has other curries, they ain’t the same.

Yep, i looked forward to the Tuesday night fried chicken platter, 2 weeks ago. I’m sorry, but this was over done/under whelming/average/basic fried chicken. A LOT of average/underwhelming friend chicken. Good bye watershed, your best days ended months ago.

Yes, it was bad. Read this and you might get an idea as to why Watershed is closing:

“I ordered a pork chop grilled medium that arrived at the table literally raw in parts. It’s rare for me to return a dish to the kitchen, but I obviously couldn’t eat this as prepared. Weirdly, the server took a fork to the chop and carried it off, leaving my dinner plate of mediocre, half-eaten okra and tomatoes behind. The rest of the chop, looking like a reheated scrap, was soon redeposited on the plate.”
