I had no idea what this practice was but Wikipedia claims it started in England, where it was called “lying down” and then spread; it’s supposed to be real big in Australia where the term “planking” arose. That doesn’t fit the claim that it’s about slaves coming to America. If anything, it would be about indentured servants going to Australia. If it planking IS a racist meme currently, then it’s had another evolution.
