Trackside always had a front door but the regulars rarely used it. Years ago (when College Avenue was a lot sketchier than it is today), they used to keep the front door locked, because, as one of the bartenders at the time used to say, "Nothing good ever comes throught that front door".
We are estimating that the opening will be in a few weeks - mid-July - once all the necessary inspections and certificates have been issued. Looking forward to re-opening "Decatur's Oldest* Tavern" - even if we do have to put an asterisk there to account for the 2 years we were closed after the fire.

Trackside was where evenings went to die. I've kinda missed the derelict charm of the place and look forward to reluctantly winding up there at two AM after all the other bars have closed and someone in my cadre drunkenly bellows "TRACKSIDE!" That yell is a refusal--a refusal to behave, to sleep, to retreat. I suppose what I'm saying is that I'll see you jerks there.
