Are you kidding? Nothing is 100% subsidized anymore except perhaps a temporary shelter bed. I was actually surprised at how much rent a Mom/child family were paying in Gateway a few years ago. Because her income was increasing as she got promoted, the rent rose real high and the Mom was considering whether it would be more prudent to buy a condo in the outer suburbs. Luckily she didn’t because she lost her job in the recent recession and could afford to stay in Gateway so her child could continue to attend CSD schools.

For some reason I always thought these were ran/paid for by dekalb county, not decatur.
I drove past them yesterday and they look nicer than my house!
for these units how are they subsidized? 100%? or pro rata vs income?

These new homes make our community stronger and more desirable. This project spent a tremendous amount of time in the planning/development mode and am glad that it is finally coming to fruition. The City of Decatur will be seeing the benefit of this change for years to come -
