First, and I speak for the guys who worked for me and myself – thank you for your kind remarks. It matters at a time like this.
The closing of the shop was a result of two things – the inflexible and unreasonable landlord who failed to extend any rent relief or an acceptable option to renew – and the realization that, after 32 years, I am ready to move on to something different. The hardest part of that decision was to lose three of the best employees who were the heart and soul of the shop. They will be missed by many of our customers. They made me very proud.

A final ‘thank you’ to all of those valued customers who made our job a pleasure since 1979.

They said the state of the economy had hurt business and the rent had gone up too much. I was told they’d been doing it a long time and just decided to call it a day. I don’t think there were plans to relocate. Bummer.
