With all of the military/intelligence budget cuts since the 90s (taking into account the budgets have slightly went up post 9/11) I'm not sure what's left to cut. The military post ww2 had been budgeted/designed to be able to fight a war on each side at the same time, and now we are struggling to get armor and better helmets for our guys on the ground in just 2 countries.

Republicans have won big. My prediction...if things get better, they'll take credit.
If they don't, they're going to continue to blame Obama and the remaining Democrats for "getting in their way."

Let's hear what programs they're going to cut. Bet it won't be anything to do with the military (huge portion of the budget, I'd heard 48 percent, but that was challenged. Still, a big chunk).
They're not going to touch Medicare.
They're probably going to cut programs that help the poorest of the poor (those lazy people should just go to work!)

They're right that whenever you start spending money on something, it's hard to stop.
So, in that respect, I'd like to see some trimming.
I just don't think we're going broke helping feed and house and educate poor people. Just think that's a responsibility of a civilized nation.
