I love this idea. Since we have both a craft beer retailer and a brewery coming to the city soon (in addition to our many excellent bars and such), there are some very logical local connections where Beer Festival tickets could be available. Maybe Ticket Alternative could sell to these folks who could then distribute, so Ticket Alternative could still be the ticket provider but local businesses could get the opportunity for the extra business this could bring in. I also love the idea of a Decatur resident pre-sale.

If I remember correctly, Chris, last year there was a limited re-release of tickets close to the day of the Fest. Stayed tuned. Also, for future reference, Ticket Alternative does have a “purchase by phone” number. Although it was steadily busy the times I tried calling (I was able to prevail online though).

(I loved the Stanley adventures story. I’m sure it’s more entertaining in hindsight!)

I loved the last two beer fests that I went to since I moved to Decatur, especially since I only live 1 block away from it. And I couldn’t wait to get tickets to this one, been checking the site for updates since back in March/April.

But unfortunately for me the TA site is blocked at work so i couldn’t order tickets till i got home after. Stayed a little late to get some extra work done and didn’t get in till nearly 7:00 only to find they had sold out by then.

Sucks as I was planning to have a few friends from out of town come in for the beer fest, but not anymore…unless someone has some additional tickets they would like to sell??

It does suck that it’s become such a money maker for scalpers. I’d be willing to bet a fair amount of money that about half the tickets sold went to scalpers who are going to sell them at a profit.
