Tortilla’s is legendary not only for its burritos and atmosphere, but as one of the first locations for spoken word performance in ATL. I think it was called the Mud shack and the poetry/performance began once the kitchen closed late at night. Does anyone remember that? High above Ponce and overlooking the Claimont Hotel!

We only eat the veg so I can’t say about all of it but we thought the bean burritos were right, and the green chile in them was like I remembered. We like the salsa. I heard some people thought the green salsa was a bit off but I thought it was good and really without having the Tortillas salsa along side to compare I couldn’t say that it was different. I remember that the Tortillas beans were sometimes undercooked, but Matt’s beans are how I remember them when they were at their best. Yum!

How close did he get to recreating the Tortillas’ taste? I haven’t had one of his burritos yet since I don’t live in the delivery zones but am looking forward to visiting the Curb Market to check it out.
