Mr. Sandage is also taking advantage of the tax credit and tax freeze program offered by the federal government for restoration of historic buildings. This program offers tax credits of 20% of total rehab costs (No cap!) for federal, 25% of total rehab costs ($300K) for state, and an 8.5 year property tax freeze at the unimproved value for state/county/city. For those of you who think preservation doesn't pay, think again! The owner of the Wrecking Bar will be saving over $500K. Remember: preservation is the untimate recycling!
