On street parking is nearby. It's a cool little park. There's also a little park tucked off of McLendon a couple of blocks away from Candler Park. I guess it would be considered Lake Claire. You almost can't see it from the road, but it's in there. Another fun thing to do outside of school hours is to walk around in the Fernbank Forest behind the Fernbank Science Center (not the big museum, the science center across from Fernbank Elementary). There's a beautiful forest back there. I think the park is at Springdale and Ponce….look south of Ponce to the road that runs parallel to Ponce. On street parking is nearby. It’s a cool little park.

It's bad enough when dog owners don't scoop the poop off the sidewalk, but not doing so at the playground is disgusting and anti-social. Perhaps these are wild dogs or the coyotes everyone keeps seeing, but if it's your dog, for Pete's sake, please scoop the poop before some inquisitive toddler tries to eat it! Playground structures were fun, easy viewing of airplanes taking off and landing, and the air traffic controller conversations are piped onto the playground. Extra bonus - two bathrooms and a covered picnic pavilion. I don't think it's widely known - friends of ours tipped us off to it. Where are people more likely to a) have things worth stealing, like ipods/gps/etc and b) more likely to have their guard down (because they're in a "good" neighborhood)? Customers, like store employees, are people too. This may make me a weirdo, but I get intimated by the idea of having a conversation with a manager, especially one who may not listen to or respond to my needs (have had that happy). Plus, sometimes I'm afraid the manager will think I am trying to ask for something in return for my complaint. Or sometimes it is just faster to either ignore the situation or type a pithy paragraph online. So sue me.
