As far as I know, that triangle of land (with the sign et al) is not within Decatur city limits. I know the Parkwood neighborhood association (W and E Parkwood, Upland Rd, Parkwood Lane and Wimberly Ct) maintained it for years. Anyone have any idea how Decatur assumed responsibility?

If anyone could post pix of the old signage vs the new signage, I'd love to see it. I can't remember enough to judge the difference. I know I liked the multicolor version, kind of a preschool, primary color motif.

Free the old signage!
New signage with it weird abbreviations, suburban styling, and dull colors depresses me.
Reminds me of what you'd find in a suburb called Hickory Estates where all the trees were cleared to put in the subdivision.
(And get a new motto)
