Decatur needs to buy this building, annex it, and put the new 4/5 Academy there. They could then turn Westchester into an extended stay hotel, and open a family-friendly, budget-conscious, but still hip restaurant in the 5th Ave space.

As long as the Clermont Lounge is OK. I mean, I passed out in their parking lot during my bachelor party. Obviously, I have some fond memories of the place.

That being said, THEY CHANGED IT AND NOW IT SUCKS - Last time I took friends from out of town there was some kind of indie electro douche rock concert going on. Some dorks with backwards hair were covering that "Poker Face" song and everyone was paying attention to them instead of Blondie. It kind of royally sucked.

I AM TOO OLD TO BE IRONIC ANYMORE.

Nostalgia motivated me to dig up this nugget from a 2002 Loaf article. For those not familiar with Mr. Allin, biographical data outside of the nugget below is not advised. It only gets "grittier".

(Allin, whose outlook on life made Sid Vicious seem like Norman Vincent Peale, died a few weeks later of a heroin overdose after a New York concert during which he stripped naked, crapped onstage, dove through a glass door and ran screaming down the street.)

Both Jeff Bakos, who produced and played bass on Allin's swan song, and Paul Cornwell, the marijuana activist and former Metroplex owner who released the record, say they never felt particularly compelled to visit the self-destructive sociopath during his stay at the Clermont.
