The City of Decatur recycling contractor states that that *do* take styrofoam, and any other plastic marked with the little symbol and number.

That is, if you’re in the city, styrofoam is OK, so long as it has the markings.

In the past they’ve also accepted styrofoam, which our recycling contractor doesn’t. Hope that’s the case this time, too.

You can drop off any kind of battery (even big ones like car batteries) anytime at Batteries Plus,
The closest one to Decatur is on Lawrenceville Hwy just inside the perimeter. Regular business hours. They are open on SAturdays. I am not sure about Sunday.

RE: dropping off batteries. Yes, that’s been my primary use of the Electronics Recycling Day in past years (before national retailers began accepting them every day).

Darn – if they were doing it after Halloween I’ll have a bagful of batteries. The talking blinking scary things in my yard are eating batteries like circus peanuts. Slowly converting the battery-eaters to low-voltage power but there are so many other fun projects to work on.
