Both are very nice photos. I believe the Decatur police in the twenties spent a great deal of their time chasing bootleggers. Wasn't one of the first police officers killed in DeKalb County a Decatur officer? Seems like that death involved bootlegging. The E. Courthouse Square location did not change much until Marta came through in the late 70s. Thank goodness that the alley next to the Brick Store is still there. I think the alley dates back to before the Civil War. Next Stop Decatur does a great job for those of us who don't get a chance to visit the History Center as much as we should. Now if he could find a picture of the old Miss Georgia ice cream shop on Clairemont or the “Uncle Tom’s Pool” on Church Street!
