I'm pretty sure the only place that served corn cob was Black Tie, which was facing the kids area. Five Star was next to OB's, if I recall correctly. Glad to see that you didn't get any lighter fluid on your corn!

We also had a great time last night. The volunteers were friendly and organized, and everything seemed to go quite smoothly. We attended with a couple who just moved to Decatur two weeks ago, and they were really excited to see that we have such great community events.

We had the ribs from OB's ($8, including chips and a drink), which were tasty, and got a chicken skewer and corn cob for my son from Five Star (which came to a shockingly expensive $9). The corn was heavy on the butter, and had some kind of hot pepper on it, which was ok, but surprising. All the lines seemed to grow and shrink throughout the night.

I have to say, based on the number of kids who attended, my husband and I are despairing over getting a Decatur Pre-K spot for our kid!

We had a really swell time yesterday at the festival. Music was excellent, Sierra cold and tasty and food mostly good. I really dug the pulled pork sammy from Five Star BBQ...went back twice. Opted not to hit OB's because I sometimes end up in McDonough for lunch. Did anyone else experience chaos over at the Black Tie BBQ tent?

All the food lines were pretty long around 7pm, which I was cool with. But Black Tie really seemed to be ill prepared and utterly confused. I ordered the smoked chicken sandwich and corn on the cob, for $9. Once I ordered, I sat in another line in front of the grill, which hit us with a huge cloud of smoke every 5 minutes. Maybe they had issues with their smallish grill, but there was no smoked chicken to be found. I got my corn relatively fast, waited another 5 minutes witnessing yelling and confusion amongst the 10 people working the tent. I opted for 2 sausages just to get the hell out of there. My foodie friend noticed that they were dripping chicken all over the shrimp skewers, in their haste to try to satisfy the hungry line. The not-very-cooked corn had a very strong taste of butter and lighter fluid. I almost threw up in the can, seriously. One sausage was edible, the other was barely cooked.

:-) Absolutely Swanny. Sorry if the "big-wig" implied anything other than that you are a great contributor to the community. I just thought it was just kind of amusing to call someone a BBQ "big-wig". Sounds completely paradoxical.

No problem. Keep up the great work! Can't wait for the festival!
