Twas epic indeed. I was ring side from 12-9p watching the thirsty crowd drain each keg in 10 minutes or less. Some people did not get to try some of the kegs, but everyone seemed pretty cool even though it was packed & humid inside. Brick Store Mike gave 2 toasts and mentioned that next year they will get full-size kegs (15 gal) instead of the 5 gallon kegs from this year. When Mike toasted the crowd at 9pm, on the hour that they first opened up the doors 12 years ago, he announced that everyone would get a 5oz pouring of Terrapin's Substance Abuse "on the house." This beer was damn good...Substance Abuse = Terrapin's "regular" Wake & Bake Coffee Imperial Stout aged in a Jack Daniels barrel.

I enjoyed the first 2 the most of the 11 that I tried. The "Paul's Day Off" was aged in a 21 year-old Pappy Van Winkle bourbon barrel and was amazingly complex. Sweetwater's Bordeaux barrel aged Belgian-style IPA was unbelievable, and kicked in 7 minutes.

You can add: Terrapin "Substance Abuse" (American Double aged in Jack Daniels Barrels) to that list. It will be tapped @9pm downstairs along with the Victoria upstairs in the Belgian Bar.
