Not that that’s a deterrent, since cars get stolen and they have VINs, but it doesn’t make for the quick cash that a computer or flat-screen would.

Totally agree re: the nonsensical anti-crime arguments against sidewalks and/or public transport. I can attest that I, personally, have never witnessed anyone riding MARTA with a flatscreen, nor have I ever seen a determined thief deterred for want of a sidewalk.
