Joanna, the museum currently operates by appointment only. My hunch is that WH is biding their time until that stretch of College catches up with Decatur and Avondale in terms of upkeep, at which time it will be a more viable destination business. Since it’s free to visit, it only pays for itself through the PR value of consistent traffic.

Lots of discussion elsewhere on this blog, btw, regarding various things (such as annexation) that might impact the development of that strip.

I really wish someone would explain why the “museum” is boarded up 99% of the time. I’ve seen the windows uncovered twice since they finished working on it.

The article is still misleading and confusing. I think that is part of the AJC’s new format – make the reader become the investigative reporter.
