Uncomfortable to shop at? Wow. Now think about whether everyone who lives in this neighborhood is comfortable shopping or eating at every business in this neighborhood. My point is, its not as simple as; everything new = good and everything old = bad. And that holds whether we’re talking about businesses, length of time people have lived here, etc.. Your lack of humility blows me away.

I moved onto 4th last year and the few times I have been to Oakview Grocery it has seem to me to be nothing but beer and lottery tickets style bodega. If it has changed hands and the new owners are changing it, then it would be a welcome change.

@oakhurst black and red – I dont think that anything that isnt new and shiny is an eyesore, but anything that makes me uncomfortable to shop at is not an asset. What do you purchase from there on your frequent visits?

If you live in Oakhurst, I highly recommend getting to know the ONA – Oakhurst Neighborhood Association (oakhurstga.org). In addition to being in the know about neighborhood goings-on, you can also sign up for email alerts from ONA and Decatur PD. They’re very helpful in situations like this.
