dem, just so you know I never took your original comment as a “please edit”. It was more my own wariness than anything else.

In terms of issue selection, posts are predominantly selected because they occur in and around Decatur. As was the case here. In fact, I would say that its more Decatur focused than it once was.

Let me clear that I don’t think the posts should be edited to be inoffensive or anything, and frankly, this is not an issue that I care about one way or the other. I wasn’t seeking any sort of editing, but just commenting on the selection of issues. (I meant political in a very broad sense.)

Since religion and politics are the two big cocktail party discussion taboos, putting both in a single post demonstrates maximized efficiency! Throw in that it’s Southern Baptists, and we can even add some ranklin’ regional stereotypes to the mix.

I don’t think it’s political to not understand why this sort of thing still goes on. I didn’t read the original (unaltered) post, but I agree on that point. Also, I don’t think Metro should have to tone down his own posts. It’s his blog, right?
