Happy E Day :)

This is Darren one of the owners. Thanks DeacturResident (and all of the other positive reviews), thanks also for the negative ones too as we are paying attention. Fortunately we have had such great support from Decatur locals that we have been both amazed and ecstatic. With this support it is very hard to monitor (and control) every bodies experience at the pub. Direct feedback (real time) rather than having people leave with a less than favorable view of the place would help us,
Misses will unfortunately happen. My wife and I had our anniversary at one of the most high profile restaurants in Atlanta and trust me they missed. We want to have far more hits than misses. I have learned first hand how intense it can be to reach a level of consistency for all - but we are really trying. We are gradually building a solid crew to help us get there. We are not fine dining and some people have high expectations but what we do we try to do well. We will continue to work hard and evolve based on constructive feedback. (BTW Hobgoblin keep the glass pint night Thur Oct 30)

I am a regular and have had nothing but great experiences - one thing I would like to ask is, are you giving the owners your feedback (in a constructive way of course?)? Jen, Darren and Colin are great and I am sure they they would be only to pleased to hear about your experience, good and bad. This would give them real time, local feedback that they may need and the chance to make changes, address issues if need be, etc...
We all want them to succeed and while I have nothing but praise for them, I think the food is excellent and I have tried most things on the menu, the staff are friendly and the beer selection is awesome, but get that may not be everyone's experience if you have an issue or concern just let them know I really think they would appreciate it!

I've been three times now and each time was a bit better than the time before. For a new place, that's a solid enough trend to keep me coming back. Decatur's just a tough town, pub-wise. The bar's exceptionally high (no pun intended), so catching a groove takes a little time.
