The remaining ones in the center were dead or dying. We’re working with Trees Atlanta to replace them with a different species that should do better in that difficult location. We notified the retailers and other tenants along E. Court Square last week that the trees were being removed. Replacement trees should go in by the end of next week. The remaining trees were either dead or dying. The City worked with Trees Atlanta to identify a more appropriate species of tree to plant in the area. The existing trees were removed last week and replacement trees are scheduled to go in by the end of next week. The existing soil will be removed and replaced with an improved planting mixture that should promote better growth too.
