It’s No Wonder that I Like Obama

20 02 2008

…he has an ENFP (or “Champion”) personality type according to this Slate.com article that evaluates and catagorizes the personalities of the three remaining viable (sorry Huck) Presidential contenders using the Myers/Briggs method. Being an INFP, Obama and I fall in the same sub group of “visionary“. No wonder I think he’s so magnetic.

Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, is an ESTJ, described as a “Guardian”, while McCain is an ESTP (or Artisan). For me, it would be hardest to relate to Clinton as her calculating nature often comes off as cold and indifferent.

If you think these sorts of personality categories are crap, take note how the same author of the aforementioned article described George W. Bush’s personality type back in 2000,

“They are decisive and little bothered by second thoughts and self-doubt.” “Since [they] do not reflect very much on their errors or analyze their mistakes to any great extent, it is difficult for them to learn from their errors, and so they can become caught in a loop, repeating their mistakes.”

Freaky.

If you’re curious about your personality type here’s a short, imperfect version of the test.

I recently found out myself that he’s an ENFP. I’m also an INFP and love him to death. We need a people loving person in office for a change. NF’s love people and want whats best for everyone.
