Revolution Doughnuts posted late last week that they had “signed a lease for a second location at 745 Edgewood Ave” in Inman Park. See above. On Twitter, Revolution stated that they were planning a Spring opening.
Revolution’s flagship location, of course, resides as an anchor in Homer Simpson Plaza along West College Avenue in Decatur.
Looks like Fodor’s has named Decatur’s Revolution Doughnuts, one of the 10 Best Doughnut Shops in the US. They write…
The product of a Kickstarter campaign,Revolution Doughnuts opened its doors in 2012 headed by Maria Moore Riggs, whose dedication to churning out fresh, handmade doughnuts has turned Revolution into an Atlanta favorite. The family-owned and -operated business makes its own yeast, cake, “low-gluten” doughnuts (made with almond flower), glazes, and toppings from scratch. Keep an eye out for the Nutella cream puff and the salted-caramel baked cake doughnut.

Man has this little strip of shops come alive in the past couple years!
The Little Hen Bakeshop – a Decatur Farmer’s Market regular – is opening up Revolution Doughnuts, next to Ale Yeah! and Avellino’s Pizza at 908 West College Ave in Decatur.

We are starting a doughnut revolution in the south – returning to a time when doughnuts were simple and tasty – made from scratch with real food ingredients – without all the pre-fab mixes, funky oils, preservatives, fillers, or stabilizers that the big doughnut chains use.
