The AJC is doing a good job of following up on the recent shooting of Decatur High School student Mikel Pittard.
The latest article includes new comments from Mikel’s mother, Peggy Hunter, along with additional details on the actual shooting itself. DeKalb police still have no suspects in the case.

A funeral is scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday at the Raleigh Rucker funeral home on Candler Road in Decatur.

The AJC follows up on it’s report that 17 year-old Decatur High student Mikel Pittard was killed in a drive-by shooting over the weekend, with reaction from DHS principal and teachers.
The high school will hold a moment of silence Tuesday morning in memory of Pittard.

…”died early Sunday after a shooting at Memorial Drive and I-285, DeKalb County Police spokeswoman Mekka Parish said Monday…Pittard was one of five teens who had just left a teen club when someone in another vehicle fired at their car on Memorial.”
According to the AJC report, DeKalb police currently have no suspects.
