RailGa.com Makes Georgia’s Railroad Past Come Alive
Decatur Metro | April 10, 2010I’m sincerely embarrassed that I didn’t know anything about this website prior to this morning.
While looking for railroad tourism inspiration for the previous post, I came across a fantastic website, Railga.com. The site has been around much longer than this one – 10 years! – and is chock-full of history and beautiful pictures from Georgia’s railroad past and present.
Every thing from maps, to the histories of individual rail lines, to an AMAZING pictoral list of every railroad depot in the state, to the best train-watching locations, to the official and unofficial nicknames of Georgia’s rail lines; the site is a virtual treasure trove for the rail history buff.
Seriously, take a minute and check it out. You won’t be disappointed. It may even inspire you to visit a Georgia town you never knew existed!
