Man Found Dead in Springdale Heights Home

Judd sends along this link to a Fox5 report…

A 55-year-old man was found dead in a Decatur neighborhood on Friday and authorities are now calling it a homicide. [DeKalb] investigators cordoned off an area on Sycamore Drive and Bridlewood Circle in the Decatur Heights subdivision after discovering the body of David Johns.

Police went to the home after Johns’ employer called police to check on him after he didn’t show up for work on Thursday or Friday.

The Decatur Heights Neighborhood blog also has a report of events.   The death occurred just outside the Decatur city limits, so the investigation is being conducted by DeKalb Police.

Fox5 Visited Decatur Square This Morning

The AsianCajuns’ Lauren Lee points out that Fox5 was bubbling it up around Decatur Square this morning as part of their week-long “Be Square” series, showcasing town squares around metro Atlanta.  One of the three segments is featured above.  If you can handle the correspondents’ intense level of interest in all things Decatur, there are two other segments – with one featuring the AsianCajuns! – HERE.

Runner Hit @ N. Decatur/Clairmont Identified by iPod

Fox5 has the story of hit-and-run victim Sarah Halperin, who was left unconscious near the intersection of North Decatur/Clairmont early Wednesday morning after being hit by a car turning left onto North Decatur from Clairmont.

Training for a marathon, 23 year-old Halperin didn’t have any ID on her at the time, so a nurse at Atlanta Medical Center had to use Halperin’s iPod serial number to get a name from Apple.

According to the Fox5 report, Halperin is still in critical condition.
