Bulldogs Need a Few Good Real Bulldogs

November 13, 2009 | 8:49 am

Sorry to all you folks with bulldog costumes in your attic. Your services are not needed.

Jim Newbury of the Decatur Bulldog Boosters writes in…

REAL BULLDOG NEEDED FOR STARDOM

The Decatur Bulldog Boosters are looking for a few good bulldogs (ie: real bulldogs) to star in two upcoming videos that promote involvement with the club. Skills needed: bone chewing and panting. The videos will be played on the DHS electronic scoreboard during football, lacrosse and soccer games. If you have a pet that might be interested in being on the big screen, give Jim Newbury a call at 404-378-2844.

Decatur Bulldog Boosters Reach Out To Community

August 18, 2009 | 5:09 pm

Jim sends in this press release from the Bulldog Boosters…

The Decatur Bulldog Boosters (DBB) is a volunteer group of parents, teachers, administrators and community members who through their efforts support all the athletic teams at Renfroe Middle and Decatur High Schools. There are currently 25 teams representing 14 sports at RMS and DHS. And we are the only Booster Club for the middle and high school and support all sports. Over 55% of the students at the middle and high schools participate in at least one sport. No school district money or gate receipts can go to funding the uniforms, equipment, and/or student recognition awards for athletics at either the middle or high school. Therefore, the DBB must raise this money, annually. Athletics is a significant part of the City Schools of Decatur experience which augments the fine academic tradition that has served all our graduates so well and contributes each year to our sense of community.

The Decatur Bulldog Boosters would like to invite the business community to join us in supporting these fine student athletes by supporting the DBB.
