Facebook groups. We’ve come full circle in COD. There were the vicious Yahoo groups in 2003-2004. Then this blog and eventually Decaturish became prominent sites for community discussion. Now we are back to closed groups. Less viscious, more bragging. I still like these blogs because they introduce new topics and are of broader interest.
The Decatur High School Boys and Girls Varsity soccer teams have advanced to the Elite Eight round of the state 5A playoffs. To make it to the Final Four, both teams must win their games this weekend. The girls teams plays tonight, May 4, against Whitewater High School at 6 p.m. at DHS Stadium.
The boys play on Saturday, May 5, at DHS Stadium at 7:30 p.m., also against Whitewater. Tickets to both games are $7. The teams would like as many fans as possible to attend to make sure Decatur gets the most from its home field advantage. Go Bulldogs!
Just checked it out. Still a work in progress but looking good. Solid collection of wine at a wide range of prices and plenty of good beer, including the top sellers of some of our local breweries. More prepared foods coming in the weeks ahead. Good bit of frozen foods, plus staples. Should be a convenient addition to downtown.
One question: Prior to the Decatur Market and now this, was there anywhere in downtown to buy packaged beer and wine (besides growlers) besides the Kroger?
You can get wine at the cafe side of Cakes & Ale, and I believe Greene’s has at least a limited selection of packaged beer and wine, in addition to the growlers.
Yep. Those are my Oakhust go-to’s. Hadn’t really paid much attention to downtown though, since I don’t live there. I imagine Savi will be a welcomed addition for the locals who imbibe.

Where have all the voices gone?
Long time passing.
The optimist in me takes a calm board as a good sign of limited drama.

Since no one else is posting, I will.
I know you’d rather I didn’t, but too bad.

does anyone know when the next hs baseball game is?
They lost their playoff games – I think they’re done for the season. Correct me if I’m wrong.
Savi Provisions is officially open, or at least the market/deli/beer/wine side. The space cutout for spirits is still in progress.

Careful at Valero. That wine could have water in it.
The law for more than a century.
