  1. Neighbors,
Join us at the Decatur Unity Garden (Woodlawn and Nelson Ferry traffic triangle) for Spring planting and cleanup, Saturday April 21, 2-4. We will plant some seeds, annuals, and a pomegranate, as well as cut back some perennials to make space. We are also looking for plant ideas for a later Spring planting. Strawberries and blueberries are coming in, and the clematis is about to bloom. Children are welcome. Visit our Facebook page for pix (search Decatur Unity Garden), or join our email updates list ([email protected]). See you there!

  2. Anyone know what is happening with Fine Line Auto (N. Decatur and Church)? It looked completely emptied out the other day.

  3. Same question, different place. Any news on Ammazza next to Doggy Dogg on East Howard? Seems to be untouched for way too long.

    1. Last I heard is that their original location in O4W got smashed by a car (twice in as many months) which really killed their budgeted plans. They seem to be holding the lease to eventually move forward but you never know. #bigbosschinese

    2. I heard from a few people at Decatur Market and Kimble House recently that Ammazza is hoping to open “in May or June,” and that there has been some recent activity.
With that amazing patio, it would be a shame to miss out on summer evenings enjoying an awesome pizza and a beer outside.

    1. Love them both. And Chocolate Coffee is also great when in that area. Here’s hoping that coffee shops never go out of fashion!

    2. Try Radio Roasers on Ponce Next to YDFM. Ebrik also brews their coffees if you can’t make it to the rotisserie. It’s the best I’ve had in metro Atlanta.

  4. Did anyone leave milk and cookies out for Snoop? It’s 4/20, y’all and this is Decatur, and it’s free for all Friday, afterall.

  5. What’s with the recent crime spree? A couple of things in the news at the beginning of the week – someone being robbed leaving the Marta station, and someone being carjacked on Scott Blvd at Merrill Ave. Then last night on TV, three houses had doors kicked in, and were burgled in broad daylight on Maederis (near the YMCA), on Westchester Dr, and on Superior. All near Scott Blvd & Clairmont Rd. On TV, they were telling us to get our door frames braced with steel.
Are there other recent crimes or suspicious activities?
We need to be on the lookout for strange cars/trucks/vans cruising the neighborhoods, and need to get more video surveillance.

  6. Can we go back to the old format online? This new format crashes my iPad browser about six to eight times or more every time I try to log in to read it. Maybe that is why readership or comments are down.
