Decatur Christmas Tree Recycling Thru Saturday, Jan 6th This Year

From the City via Steve in a FAFF comment (harder to find the info online this year!)…

Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017, through Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, City of Decatur residents may drop off live Christmas trees at the annual “Bring One for the Chipper” event at the Agnes Scott College parking lot between 184 and 206 S. Candler St.

Please do not leave Christmas trees anywhere else on the Agnes Scott campus.

  1. Some households in my neighborhood just put their trees by the curb. Does the city recycle them? If not, where do they go?

    1. I think Decatur Sanitation takes the trees to the “yard waste” area at DeKalb County’s landfill on Seminole Road where all the Decatur yard waste goes. I don’t think they like taking them and they often sit on the curb for weeks in my neighborhood.

    1. I’ve always assumed that wreaths are a form of tree branch. But take off the bows and wire!
