With all the construction around Howard and Trinity, etc has there ever been a discussion to tunnel under the GRR tracks in Decatur besides at Commerce? Or has the density gotten to the point where it’s just not feasible any more?
There’s also the tunnel under the tracks on East Lake so 2 tunnels, 3 crossings and a bridge at Sams Crossing.
I’m always up for a boring conversation.
It would be very expense. Happen to have 3 or 4 million in your pocket?
I’d suggest multiplying that figure by at least 5.
I think a rotary(traffic circle) with a drawbridge might be nice features over there on Howard.
It’s not feasible. It would cost untold millions at this point due to density, like you suggested. Whenever I get frustrated with the railroad crossings, I try to remember that Decatur and Atlanta owe their existence to the railroad being there.

In Decatur some fire hydrants are orange, others are green: why?
I think the color indicates when they were last inspected/tested? But I could be mistaken.
The color indicates the water flow that can come through the hydrant. Most to least is Blue, Green, Yellow, Red. The firefighters say that if the hydrant outside your house is red, you’d better hope only one room catches fire.
