Decatur Beach Party is Now Free – And Has a New Name!

You may already have heard, but this Friday’s annual beach party is now called “Summer in the City” and is free of charge!   From the Decatur Business Association…

The DBA invites you to join us on this Friday, June 16 from 5-11pm for Summer In The City – Where Beach Meets The Streets.
This year, admission is free to the community. We want to thank our sponsors for allowing us to make the event free this year.
The event brings together the Decatur Beach Party, a Cultural Community Festival and the Brick Store’s 20th Anniversary.
Come enjoy 60 tons of sand, kids activities, rock climbing, a rockin’ band, DJ, pop-up performances, sidewalk chalk art and plenty more. We will have carnival food items available for sale and the restaurants will be open for business with some serving special Summer In The City menus.
Don’t forget to stop by the sponsor tables and thank them for their support of this awesome community event!
See everyone on Friday as we enjoy Summer In The City!!!

    1. You get to sing and play in the wet sand so bring a rain coat and/or umbrella. Foot wear not needed since your feet will be wet in the Sand. 😉

  1. Hot town, summer in the city
Back of my neck getting dirty and gritty
Been down, isn’t it a pity
Doesn’t seem to be a shadow in the city

But at night it’s a different world
Go out and find a girl
Come-on come-on and dance all night
Despite the heat it’ll be alright
