We see you try
We see you fail
Some things never change
We hear you cry
We hear you wail
We steal that smile from your face

“All good things must end ….” (A morning for quotes?) I, sadly, am moving from Decatur, but, happily, am moving within 3 miles of my young granddaughters. Any recommendations/comments re: cross-country moving companies? Thanks for any assistance!
I’m planning a scavenger hunt for 8 16 year old girls, evening time this weekend in downtown. I need some fun or unique or must visit spots on or around the square and Agnes Scott.
Thanks!
1. tiny doors. there are at least 2 about the square I know of.
2. Have them take a selfie with a statue/sculpture, with something that would like to buy, etc…
Don’t know about specific ideas for the hunt, but you might get some good ideas from the Clue Town scavenger hunt series. Me and my kids have done the one for Piedmont Park. Was pretty good. Per the website you can buy the books at Little Shop and maybe the Decatur visitors center.
just got my copy, thanks!
Might be a little childish for the age, but If they have not scoped out all of the fairy doors, several to be found in and around the square and the tunnel to AS.
have them take a picture with the “Metro-Atlanta Scale Model Solar System (MASS) project”
It’s the design in front of the Bradley observatory on Agnes Scott
correcting my own idea – the design at the Bradley Observatory is supposed to represent the Sun. There are supposed to be scaled representations of the solar system that they can also find in Decatur:
Mercury @ Alston Campus Center in Agnes Scott
Venus @ Decatur High School (not sure if it is impacted by construction)
Earth @ Decatur Library
Mars – Columbia Theological Seminary
Jupiter – Emory Physics
Saturn – Georgia Tech Physics (Ok, a bit further out …)
Another idea – play twister underneath Marta (it’s part of the art installation on the new Marta bridge)
Also… they can play a tune on the chimes
Hello Decatur!
My name is Sam and I am looking for some freelance web development projects! I’ve completed several projects for the community in the past and would love to help you if I can.
Here is a form if you are interested: https://goo.gl/forms/kgCzm7Qrrm3E1Oe32
Thanks again and have a great weekend!
Anyone know who’s day is May 20th?
Cher’s?
Please spread the word… slow down on Electric Avenue! There are children going to and from Ebster . Folks are driving at least 40 to 50 mph on this street.
I have noticed the same on Trinity as well. People fly down that hill in their cars coming from Ponce. I would have hoped gazing at the MARTA mural might slow people down!
Please spread the word…slow down on Garden Lane. There are children walking to and from school. Folks are driving at least 40-50 mph on this street. And there are no sidewalks. Thanks!
Both Garden and Lamont/Vidal badly need sidewalks. Curses on those who lobbied to avoid them.

We are grateful today for the swift and kind service we received from Lap of Love. They offer palliative care for pets and came out to the house yesterday to help our sweet dog die before she suffered any more. I hope none of you need them, but it is reassuring to know they are there when you do. Thank you, Dr Lauren.
