Jimmy John’s To Open in Long Vacant Chevron Station in Emory Village

Tomorrow’s News Today alerted us to this post on the Emory Village Alliance website…

Emory Village has been on the radar of Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches’ franchisee Jimmy Pineda for more than six years. He expects the wait to be well worth it.

By this Thanksgiving Pineda and his business partners aim to reach their goal of opening a Jimmy John’s in the long-vacant Chevron station on North Decatur Road and at the same time contributing to ongoing revitalization of the Village.

That transformation of the gas station began this week with the removal of the canopy. Soon to follow will be installation of new windows and other exterior and interior improvements including a kitchen and seating for about 20 inside and 6 to 8 outside. New trees and other plantings will compliment the nearby roundabout and Village streetscape.

  1. Hmm, I like Jimmy John’s as much as the next person, but I can’t help feeling somewhat underwhelmed after waiting to see this gas station transformed for what feels like a decade. Sorry Jimmy John’s. You’re definitely better than Subway!

  2. a friend of mine is a JJ franchisee and has been waiting about as long to open his franchise somewhere in New Jersey. not exactly what I had hoped for in that spot but with their ability to deliver to the Emory students they’ll make crazy money if they’re willing to stay open late, especially during exam weeks. 🙂

  3. Anyone here remember the Dairy Queen on North Decatur? Their owner used to canvas my Emory dorm around 10:00 PM, announcing “Extra Food From Dairy Queen!” He did well…

  4. That’s an expensive piece of property. It will take a lot of $5 sandwiches to make that work. I am glad to see the spot get developed though.

  5. Can someone make the delivery bikers wear helmets? It scares the daylights out of me to see them on a daily basis.

      1. Give me one good reason I should not have my anxieties soothed through force of law. If someone is making me worried or uncomfortable, they really should be put in jail, or at least fined.
