Police and Fire Personnel responded to a brush fire at 163 Clairemont Avenue last night around 7:45pm. A male that was in the area was briefly detained and released. Deputy Chief Harpring with the Decatur Fire Department is handling the case.
A reader reported that the only damage they observed was “small fire damage to the building side and a broken window”.
Deputy Chief Harpring told us that the fire is still under investigation.

I guess somebody parked in the lot too long.
They probably caught the suspect because he was booted.
