VIDEO: Dearborn Park Really Flooded Yesterday

David sends along this great video montage of the flooding of Shoal Creek that occurred in Dearborn Park after the heavy rains yesterday.

  1. Does anyone know how this flooding in Dearborn Park compares with what happened on Christmas Eve? This storm, while bad, did not seem as bad as the one on Christmas Eve.

  2. It is time to put on the swimming trunks and go swimming in the big pond. Could a jet ski be used in the Park? How about setting up a water turbine to get electricity from the park to power all of Decatur. Now that is called Green Space use. ++

  3. With all that orange-brown water flowing down the street, it looks like some project’s run-off control measures failed in a big way. C’mon, Decatur, protect our streams!

  4. The runoff here has never been the same since the massive hill across the street was leveled, trees removed and replaced with a subdivision.
