Ébrik Coffee Room Opening Second Location in Downtown Decatur

Downtown Atlanta’s Ébrik Coffee Room is opening a second metro location in downtown Decatur.  According to Creative Loafing…

The owners of downtown coffee shop Ébrik Coffee Room (16 Park Place S.E.) have signed the lease on a second location in Decatur near Arepa Mia and Agnes Scott College.

Near Arepa Mia likely means they’ll be moving into one of the vacant retail spots in the Trackside/Arepa Mia/Meldora/Piece of Cake strip along East College.

  1. Butcher paper has gone up in the windows of the former space of the long-lamented Fifth Earl. That would be my guess.

  2. Glad to have that space occupied at long last, and a coffee shop in that spot seems like a good idea. But as Daren notes, I don’t need another excuse to miss Fifth Earl.

  3. For reasons I do not understand, Decatur can support an infinite number of coffee shops and yoga centers. Which works out very nicely for me.

    1. I love both as well! I only know of three yoga studios (Decatur Hot, Solstice and Yoga Central). Are there more I need to check out?

      1. There’s FORM on Ponce, just outside the city limits and Still Hot Yoga across from Emory’s Clairemont campus.

      2. And there’s yoga at Decatur Healing Arts and at the YMCA. Core Yoga just closed. I didn’t even know about Solstice. To me, this is lots of choices for such a small area.

        1. Yes, DHA is great, too. So sad to hear Core is closed before I could visit. YMCA is next on my list. Do you like it there?

    2. BTW, I’d like to add nail salons to coffee shops and yoga places to the list of establishments for which Decatur seems to have an infinite demand. Just saw that a “nail bar” is opening up next to Chocolate coffee shop. That’s in addition to the one in Emory Commons, Viet Traditional Nails, Miss Nails, Jazmin Spa, and a place I just found on Yelp called Honeycoated Nail Spa. And I suspect that there may be some hair salons or spas in town that also offer nail services.

    3. My wife really enjoys Charlie Graham’s class on Wednesday nights at Tough Love Yoga in the Candler Connection by Radial. Charlie leads the King of Pops free sessions by the Beltline during mild weather.

  4. I am a fairly frequent customer at Ebrick’s downtown Atlanta store. The owners are great guys. I think they are hoping to attract some Agnes Scott business. Most of their downtown customers are GSU students/faculty.

    1. I second Smith’s point about the Ebrik folks being awesome. This is excellent news, and I’m sure Decatur will love them.

    2. Agree 100% The guys who run this place are wonderful!!!!! Well-run, super friendly service, and good coffee/tea. Lucky to have them for informal faculty meetings at GSU!
