Taziki’s Mediterranean Café Opens in Decatur Next Week
Decatur Metro | January 8, 2016 | 12:59 pmThe Taziki’s PR team released this statement today…
A new Taziki’s Mediterranean Café will open its doors in Decatur on Tues., Jan. 12 at 319 W. Ponce De Leon Ave., Suite 40. There will be a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. with the Dekalb Chamber. This will be the fifth Taziki’s in Georgia.
The restaurant will be 2,600-square feet and will seat 78 inside. Additional seating will be located outside on the patio.
Taziki’s is known for its assortment of delicious, fresh prepared items with seafood, vegetarian options, and fresh prepared meats. The Grilled Salmon Feast, the Tomato Basil Sandwich, the unique Mediterranean selection of gyros, and various vegetarian options represent a sampling of Taziki’s most popular healthy entrees.
The restaurant’s savory hummus coupled with baked pita chips and the Taziki’s Signature Pasta have always topped the list of favorite menu items ordered by customers. Additionally, a wonderful complement to the Taziki’s menu is the Taziki’s decadent dark chocolate cake or baklava offered as dessert options.
“Decatur residents are going to enjoy our menu full of original chef-driven recipes prepared daily from fresh ingredients,” said Dean Robb, Local Owner, Taziki’s Mediterranean Café. “Taziki’s believes in creating delicious Mediterranean dishes, giving families healthy alternatives when dining out.”
The clean and refreshing Mediterranean décor will include hardwood furnishings, natural stone, wood finishes and residential lighting, setting the tone for the perfect dining escape.
The restaurant’s website, tazikiscafe.com, provides descriptions of each entrée as well as nutritional information.
Taziki’s Mediterranean Cafe was recently named one of the 50 fastest growing restaurant chains in the nation.
To celebrate the grand opening, Taziki’s will present a donation to The Giving Kitchen.
“We are dedicated to supporting the Decatur area and look forward to giving back in many ways. Chef Ryan Hidinger was well-known in central Georgia for his culinary skills and kind demeanor,” said Robb. “We thought it would be a great fit to partner with The Giving Kitchen and support members of the greater Atlanta restaurant community that are currently facing difficult times.”
If you want to try authentic and delicious Greek food (and lots of other dishes) in Decatur, you need look no further than Andryannis Greek Bistro. It is tucked in the back corner of the Two Decatur Town Center building at 125 Clairemont. Marios and Kaliopy run the place. They have been serving amazing lunches for years and started serving dinner a year ago. Nice folks, great food and good prices — and they’ve helped Decatur teams whenever I asked.
And Mario makes everything himself. Actually, they’re been doing dinner for at least 3 years, but not every night., only Wednesday thru Saturday.
Marios and I own and run our Andryannis Greek Bistro since 2009, We have now expanded dinner Tuesday through Saturday. Catering is 7 days a week. Our location is our challenge. Every day or so we have a new Decatur resident discover us which is a blessing. We know 95% of our lunch customers by their first name and the same is happing with our dinner crowd which is mostly Decatur residents.
So ..yes Mario is an amazing Chef, we make just about every single thing ourselves from scratch and THANKYOU for your comments:) Although i really really want to advertise all over Decatur it is very very difficult for us to advertise, so this word of mouth, telling a friend…is a blessing for us. We love Decatur and the people.
Thank you Sir very much for your words. Thank you for telling your friends. A National franchise store opening up down the block from is… we feela challenge for a bit. We are just the two of us running our family Authentic Andryannis Greek Bistro here in Decatur so…. yes we are worried about a big fish….. But our children Andreanna and Yannis tell us don’t worry Mommy and Daddy y’all are the best. It may get bumpy for a little but we will survive yet another PITA eatery.
I have to admit that your location and its parking challenge at lunchtime is you usually what keeps me away when I don’t have the time to walk. But now I am going to make the time, or check out dinner, if only because of your use of the term “PITA eatery”. I will totally support the local mom and pop (and kids!) over the Johnny come lately national chain named after a food that they can’t even bother to spell correctly. They may have the big advertising budget but you’ll continue to get my word of mouth recommendation for sure!
Ok, so I’ve already mentioned that my OCD will likely keep me from ever passing through the doors of this “Tazikis”, especially when there is great food and better spelling at other local places like Andryannis and Mediterranean Grill. That said, is anyone else at least a little amused by their attempt to associate themselves with a great local charity? I don’t know if “local owner” Dean Robb actually is local but, if he is, you’d think he would know that Decatur, Atlanta and, indeed, the whole metro area is in NORTH Georgia, not central Georgia. Even if you consider North Georgia to be only the mountain counties, metro Atlanta is never referred to as “central Georgia.” Hell, I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone refer to “central Georgia” at all. Isn’t “Middle Georgia” the more accepted term? Who are these interlopers trying to corrupt our kids with lazy spelling and poor geographical correctness?!?
