Report: Sprout’s Farmer’s Market Coming to Decatur Crossing Development
Decatur Metro | October 15, 2015 | 3:25 pmFrom Tomorrow’s News Today…
Phoenix, Arizona-based Sprouts Farmers Market will anchor the retail portion of the new Decatur Crossing project near Decatur according to source familiar with the plans. The center, located at the corner of Scott Boulevard and North Decatur Road, is being built on the site of the former Scott Boulevard Baptist Church, as well as replacing greenspace and other smaller structures.
I’ve been in a Sprouts and I don’t understand the appeal. ???
The Sprouts house brand is pretty good, but not as great as TJs. They usually have good sale prices on produce, but quality and shelf life suffer dearly as a result. YDFM is still probably a better choice for produce.
With YDFM, all I’d really be looking for from this place is packaged goods, really. There’s a Sprouts by my folks in Smyrna and they swear by it. Everything they used to get at TJ’s and Whole Foods they now get there. I think it will be a good fit.
” The center, located at the corner of Scott Boulevard and North Decatur Road, is being built on the site of the former Scott Boulevard Baptist Church, as well as replacing greenspace and other smaller structures.”
Hm. It’s going to be a stand alone store, not part of a center. It’s going to be built on the Phase II site between Barton Way and Blackmon Dr, not on the site of the former Scott Boulevard Baptist Church. Although greenspace will be replaced, seems worthy of a mention that a nearly 1 acre public park and significant landscaping along Scott Blvd and N. Decatur Rd (and throughout the development) will be going in. The “other smaller structures” are what was a much loved neighborhood.
Perhaps we should all wait for Fuqua to announce the retailer and the AJC’s Bill Banks to report it.
Will the new Wal-Mart be full sized with a grocery section? If so, that’s direct competition.
Really. You think Wal-Mart and Sprouts shoppers are the same people?
Many people will shop at both. The horror, the horror.
