This news a bit old to those in-the-know, but I wanted to close this loop, since someone asked me recently what happened in the Decatur High Boys & Girls Soccer semi-final matches last week.

As I have posted several notices recently about Decatur High soccer, I want to post one final update. Sadly, both the girls and the boys lost in their semi-final matches. The girls lost 6-1 to a strong Westminster team on Tuesday. The boys lost to Calhoun High School in a heartbreaking shootout on Thursday. Obviously, both teams had impressive seasons, each finishing as one of the top four teams in the state in their classification. Nice run, Bulldogs. Thank you for an exciting soccer season. We look forward to another one next year!

And Varsity Girls’ coach Stephen Gathany was named Region 3AAA Coach of the Year! Congrats to a great coach and friend. Can’t wait to see what the next few seasons will bring.
