Dairy Queen Signs Lease for Trinity Triangle Location

dq

It’s official folks!

The AJC is reporting that at long last the owner of the Decatur Dairy Queen, Nisar Momin, signed a lease with Centro Development last week to open a new location at Trinity Triangle (aka “Arlo”).

Also of note, the AJC reports that Asst. City Manager Lyn Menne told them that Centro “agreed to a rental rate considerably below market rate to make it happen”.

According to the blurb, the new location likely won’t open until Spring 2016.

  1. great news — now let’s hope the landlord doesn’t try to make up for that below-market rental rate by charging DQ patrons for parking

  2. So happy these lovely folks will be back in the neighborhood! They have been missed.

  3. Huh…Maybe I was hallucinating, but I could swear there was news a couple months ago that this was already a done deal. Anyway, great news!

  4. I’ll bet we really owe a few folks at the city a big ‘THANK YOU’ for this one.

  5. I give ’em six months at most.

(Obligatory negative comment about a Decatur retail opening. Just kidding. Welcome back)

  6. I can’t believe the guy in the picture isn’t holding a Blizzard upside down! I’m glad they will be back, and I’m sure many RMS students will be happy to see them too.

  7. I am glad to hear this. As to thanking someone, anyone who likes that development should thank the Momins, as I understand they had the option and were prepared to purchase the property their store occupied, and relinquished it at the City’s request.
