  1. The story about Chattahoochee Plantation shows how Atlanta’s growth was never managed properly from the start and how racial politics were one of the driving forces — if not the main force — behind the way Atlanta developed. Now, in my opinion, we are stuck with multiple government entities that make it nearly impossible to deal with issues of regional importance. And we keep creating more cities. It makes no sense.
