  1. Be nice if something were to happen to this property other than a staging area for movie production. A few years back there was a push for athletic fields/sports complex. I’ve always thought that the main building would lend itself to be an excellent spot for a summer/winter public pool.

    Dare to dream.

    1. As I understand it, redevelopment is in the works: atlanta.curbed.com/archives/2014/02/27/mixeduse-proposal-for-pullman-yard-gains-support.php

  2. My mom, who’s almost 90, showed me a house across the street from there where she lived briefly as a young teen. She remembered it as a trolley car maintenance facility.

  3. If I have spare time, I sometimes take a longer bike commute route to/from midtown that takes me down the bike path along Pullman (and onto the “dirt path” along the train tracks that runs a few blocks until College Ave – I refer to it as the Pullman Cyclocross Trail).

While the bike path is open, the street along there is closed to vehicle traffic. On some afternoons that closed street is full of skate boarders with those accessories (boxes, ramps, whatever) that skateboarders “do stuff” with. I think that is cool, and keeps them from rail grinding city property 🙂

That ContactPoint proposal for indoor/outdoor is great, though I fear the real-estate market will ultimately lead to the usual large mixed-used development ….
