On 1-5-15 at approximately 8:15pm, Decatur Police responded to the 100 block of Sycamore Street in reference to an attempted robbery by snatch. The complainant reported the victim was trying to locate the entrance to Core Studio and someone tried to snatch her purse. The victim had since left the area. An officer contacted the victim who reported that between 7:30-8pm she was trying to locate the rear entrance of the studio and asked a white male for directions. The male pretended to have a hard time hearing her and moved closer and asked her to repeat herself. The male then grabbed her purse. The victim turned around and ran, maintaining hold of her purse. The victim was not able to provide an exact location of where the incident occurred. The victim was not injured and no items were stolen.
The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 30-40 years old, approximately 6’00”, short dark hair, unshaven and wearing a dark brown coat.
