Steve sends in this pic of a new sign in the window of the recently shuttered Marbar along East Howard Avenue.
Seems like the rumor that it may reopen – reported by the AJC – may be true.

Well, third time’s a charm.
I hope something new does go in there–it’d be a shame for such a lovely space to sit idle.
Wish the old Carpe Diem space just down Howard from MARBAR and Kimball House would also get a tenant, too. Loved the bar setup there.
With the two new housing developments going up along E. Howard (between Kimball House & the old Carpe Diem space) and the planned Dairy Queen apartments, I’m guessing it’s only a matter of time. The townhomes closer to Kimball House (“East Howard Place”) are being advertised at $589k.
There was an article in the AJC last week maybe with details. I believe it is going to be southern food with a twist.

I noticed this morning the signage was painted over.
copied from the Google and in an article yesterday on Eater:
Decatur: The space that formerly housed MARBAR will be taking on a new concept soon. Deborah VanTrece, executive chef/owner of the Catering Company by VanTrece, will open a restaurant called Twisted Soul. VanTrece shared some details with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Bob Townsend:
“I have been working on this for some time, since I closed my restaurant, Edible Art Cafe in East Atlanta,” VanTrece said. “I am so excited to bring my Southern flair to the Decatur area.”
Yes! Reopen!!!
